Routes
Peak District walks this site can describe from named sources — trailheads on OS Explorer OL1.
Stanage and the Dark Peak only. Distances on the edge walk match the Stanage Edge walk page. Always carry OS Explorer OL1, check the forecast, and choose a route that matches your experience.
The gritstone escarpment above the Hope Valley. Start at Hathersage station, climb through North Lees, and follow the edge. Full step-by-step is on the walk page.
Shortest approach onto the edge from the PDNPA Hollin Bank car park (toilets on site). Out-and-back along the escarpment as far as you choose; no village climb.
Before you go
Distances and times are approximate. Paths change, weather closes ridges, and winter conditions can turn a Moderate summer route into a serious mountaineering day. Use OS maps, MWIS or Met Office mountain forecasts, and your own judgement.
